The urgent proposal program is designed for users with an urgent and critical need to carry out non-proprietary experiments of great public significance. Urgent proposals can be submitted at any time, and submitted proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
All 26 public beamlines and 11 RIKEN beamlines<\/a> are available. If you would like to use the RIKEN beamlines available for public use, please contact the SPring-8 Users Office of JASRI. If you don\u2019t have previous experience using the beamline you would like to use, please make sure to consult the Beamline Scientist before submitting a proposal. Since the beamtime for urgent proposals is arranged after the beamtime for other types of proposals is fixed, please check the schedule with the Beamline Scientist beforehand.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Please submit your proposal application online from the User Information Website (UI site). Please allow at least three weeks for processing (from the date of application until you can carry out your experiment).<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Submitted proposals are reviewed and selected by the SPring-8 Proposal Review Committee (SPring-8 PRC). In addition to scientific and technical value, the degree of expectation to produce results, necessity of SPring-8 as a research tool, technical feasibility, safety of the experiment, and ethics, which are the criteria for general proposals, urgency and significance of the proposals are also reviewed at the SPring-8 PRC.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Applicants will be notified of the review results by phone or via email about two weeks after the proposal submission. An official written notification will be sent at a later date.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n Please submit an Experiment Summary Report online within 60 days after the experiment. Submitted reports are made publicly available online two weeks after the report submission deadline for the last experiment of the term (60 days after the end of each half-year research term + two weeks).
